O rio mar!

The Amazon river close to Santarem.

A few weeks ago I presented a photo from the Iguazu falls. Iguazu means great waters, and that place is for sure an impressive sight!

This is another place worthy of superlatives. At times when you travel by boat on the the Amazon it appears to be more like an ocean. In fact there are stretches of the river that are more than 40 kilometers wide..!!

Mirror mirror on the wall!

This guy had a really hard time to let go of the mirror…

Walking down Porvenir street my left eye suddenly get a glimpse of an interesting hairdresser scene. Immediately an intensive negotiation process starts in my mind between the photographers ambition to achieve a good picture and my instinctive inhibition against sticking my camera under the noses of people I don’t know. The photographer wins the battle but a small sacrifice is needed…

I turn around, walk back and step into the hair salon asking.. can you cut my hair

General on the wall!

An art teacher and mural painter standing in front of his last work, the face of one of the national liberators.

Not far from here another latin American liberation protagonist Simon Bolívar has given his name to one of Santo Domingos many hopelessly poor slum barrios.
