Big sister in Indian ocean!

If dream beaches is your kind of fun go to the Seychelles!  This is “big sister island” It´s not very big actually, you can walk from one side to the other in 5 minutes.

There is a Little sister as well close by!

Cordillera Blanca!

During my visit to the remote and isolated village of Huandoval in the Ancash province in northern Peru in the eighties, I was lucky enough to be able to make a horseback excursion in the surrounding Andean mountains with the local shopkeeper.

We took off very early in the morning climbing the mighty Cordillera Blanca. Highlights on this adventure was when we after a couple of hours passed some old Inca ruins!

The road (path) in the picture at the other side of the valley is nothing less than pieces of the “Camino Real” the main road that linked Quito (Ecuador) with Cusco (Peru) in the days of the Inca empire.  Quite impressive to see it like that, especially as I had no previous idea what so ever that these remains was waiting for us on this trip.

My host brought beans and guinea pig (Cuy) for lunch… yeah it´s delicios.

Turning back towards Huandoval it started to rain but luckily the shopkeeper had an extra poncho which he threw to me…

Falemenderi shumë Albania!

After two weeks in Albania the dim prejudice I had about the country has changed dramatically in a positive way!

If you are the demanding, inflexible type that needs perfect service and everything up to date.. go somewhere else.

But if you like smiles and welcomes that comes from the heart this is the place to go.

peaceful, secure, relaxed, fantastic landscapes, good food, a thriving national culture and such a lovely people!

(I know there are complications…. drugs, corruption etcetera. I am just giving my 14 days first impression here!)

Thank you very much Albania…     Valentina, Erisa, Nick, Silvana and many more!

Hot Albanian riviera!

In the heat of July you only have a couple of escape options. One is to stay in the air condition zone and the other of course is to jump into the crystal clear Meditirranean sea.

I can recommend Ksamili south of Saranda.

Also The International Mermaid Watch Association IMWA have recently reported observations of that rare species in this part of Albania!

Think I was lucky… saw something down there!

22 meters below!

One of the highlights on my two-week visit at the Seychelles was the dive at the Ave Maria rock! You´ll see it as the silhouette island in one of the images.

It was me, the dive master and three french doctors who had arrived from La Reunion to do some sailing around the Seychelles archipelago on board an impressive catamaran. So I was in good hands..

Ave Maria is a granite rock that offers some nice diving conditions. White tip reef sharks are often spotted around here. The variety of life is astonishing as you can see on the images.

One of the interesting creatures we encountered was the Scorpionfish.  It´s much like a chameleon. It is also very venomous, so don’t provoke! I have enhanced the fish sharpness and contrast and as you see it’s still hard to discover.  Clue: you find the eyes at the lower part of photo.

After the visit to the underworld the french divers were a little disappointed for not having seen any sharks despite of my bleeding leg!! (collision with some corrals)

Bonus YouTube film from Seychelles   Thank you Cinicas.

All photos taken with Canon Powershot S-100 with UW-house. This was my second visit under water with a camera. It´s tricky!

Eski oun deza vin la?

Met Danielle with family and friends.  Elwina is the girl trying to get her fathers  attention!

Can you spot him? in the upper  right!

The woman with the big leaf is a police taking shelter from a heavy rain..

I am just south of the equator in a place often associated with paradise.

I kind of understand why?
