Old church on the hill!

It´s  a good idea to take a walk up the mountain above Dhermi and visit the remains of this old orthodox church. This is the place where you´ll find the largest number of churches per capita in Albania!

I have received different information about the percentage in the country of orthodox christians versus muslims etcetera. One source said 30% muslims 30% orthodox christians and 30% non believers.  The Albanians are discrete when it comes to manifest their beliefs in clothing or other symbols!

Market man!

A short encounter at the market place in Saranda a couple of weeks ago. I think this man reflects much of the Albanian character as I found it during my short visit in the country.. humbleness, kindness!

Lady in red!

“Los Benavides” street in Luyano, Havana 1996.   “El período especial”… no more Soviet Union, no more economical assistance. This meant tough times for the Cubans.

The Bruce Springsteen initial song tonight kind of fits in to this post..   At this moment I can hear him sing at Ullevi in Gothenburg. Second concert of two. Yesterday was sunny

today it´s been raining quiet a bit. Lots of people and nice atmosphere at the arena.

Lunch anyone?

Victor has been a fisherman all his life. I go visit him when I am around at the place where he always hangs out, the fishermen marina close to the mouth of river Almendares in Havana.
